Looked at what appears to be a 1965 ex-396/425 coupe over the weekend.Wrong motor,trans ,and rear.Any small details I may have overlooked that can identify this car as a true 396. Thanks!

longer fuel line from tank to fuel pumnp with 45 degreee angle as opposed to shorter line with 90 degree angle on the small blocks. evidence of pulse amp on right front of core support, radiator unique to 396 and l-88, rear sway bar, clamp/bolt vs u-bolt on small block half shaft u-joints etc. good luck. mikeComment

To add to what Mike has suggested, '65 396 cars had the battery on the drivers side with bag for washer fluid (see UPC C60 in AIM), K-66 ignition and a 'LB' gauge cluster (sticker on the backside of cluster).

7/8/ front sway bar. heavy duty rear spindles engine compartment wiring & mounting areas.front springs,rear axle shafts...What makes you think its a BB?Comment
